I'd be fine with just the h&r lowering springs. Will the stock shocks last much longer? When do they normally go out? Coilovers are way overpriced for our cars but if I will need shocks in the near future that's what ill do. Any experience in mbworld?

I'd save for coilovers. HR's lower the car pretty good so you'll be over compressing old shocks.

I'm running H&R's with Koni Yellow Struts.
I'm pleased with the height, and performance, and soft settings for daily driving.

You have to adjust the struts individually don't you? Is that a pain getting them set the same?

At 90k, lowering springs on stock shocks will most likely cause them to go out even sooner.

The stock shocks are not meant to handle that compression like deuce said.

Believe me, I've assumed this as well, but I don't make many decisions based off assumptions. I don't know for sure as the stock struts are blisteins, and very well made high end struts,(this isn't the same as dropping a Honda) they very well could last. Like the difference between a really good quality tool that lasts, or an average tool that doesn't. I really do appreciate everyone's input but i'm looking for someone who knows for sure, from experience, without a doubt. I could buy struts or coil-overs, then talk to a tech or someone who put 200k+ or whatever on just springs, then I would feel stupid for wasting money when I didn't need to. This is just the way I'm built.

As a suggestion, perhaps you should contact bilstein directly. I spoke with representatives there when I rebuilt the shocks for my 99 E55 and they were extremely helpful. They will certainly be able to offer you an educated opinion concerning the effect lowering the vehicle will have on your shocks.

That's a good idea.
