CLK55 FRONT & REAR BUMPER TRIM

So I decided to black out the side trim on the CLK. Got the trim removal tools and went to work. Amazed at how much crap there is behind the side moulding!

The problem is, I'm having troubles getting the wedges behind the front and rear trim pieces. It feels as though they're not separate trim pieces but molded as part of the bumper.

Any opinions on removal?? Thanks!

That figures! Thanks for the info - saves me from prying away on my bumpers like a dog gnawing on a bone!

Correct.
The bumper trim on the front and rear are part of the bumpers.
The only separate components are the chrome strips.

As I understand it, these can be a pig to remove and/or re-fit.
So much so, that a lot of people buy replacement strips to fit after having work done.
