The unit seems to have power, the eject button is lit up green. I press eject, it flashes, makes a noise like it wants to eject, but it doesn't eject.

Surely others have had a similar problem. Its the stock unit in the trunk of my 01 CLK55

I am not joking...try hitting it with a rubber hammer as you press the eject button.

You can also try disconnecting the unit from the wiring harness to reset the CD changer unit.

Good luck.

Worth a shot. I also noticed that when I press CD on the head unit, it says NO CD CHANGER but maybe that's because there's no disc in there? I'll unplug it and see what I can get it to do.

try to put some gentle force ontop the cd-cartridge with your fingers and then press the reject button.
mine got stuck once and I had to press the cartrige a bit to come loose

Fixed it! Not sure how long it will last though. I deliberately dropped it about 8 inches on a flat surface, and it worked again. Instantly ejected using the correct method (the eject button)

I also intentionally broke it again. It seems that switching back from one CD to another one not in sequence immediately was what jammed it up. So going from CD 4 to 1 to 6, relatively fast etc, no good.. "Fixed" it again by dropping it a few inches, and sure enough it ejected again. No problems since putting it back together. Eventually I'll just put a GPS navigation unit in, and find an adapter to use the stock bose system

not sure if its the same model that's in the w209's but I had the same problem. If you search in Google how to take the player apart there is a worm gear that slips out of place, it needs to be push back into place then tighten the screw then your good to go. but double check the model of the clk55 2005 to see if it matches yours
