Winterizing the CLK63?

My first season with the CLK! I only put about 3500 miles on it, but damn I love this car! I average about 13mpg driving it pretty damn hard. Tires are all but destroyed. I'm always looking for another car...but the sound this thing makes while driving with the top down is insane.

My hard fast rule was..never drive the convertible with the top up! mission accomplished. she's never seen the snow or the rain.

I bought the car last november, it had service right before I got it, so I gassed it up, connected a battery tender and covered it(rolled it every month to prevent a flat spot). this spring I changed the oil(and the battery) but did nothing else.

Now it's due for service B...should I do that service now or in the spring? Aside from filling the tank, should I run some stabilizer through it to offset the ethanol? Should I fill it with 95 octane(available in 5-gal cans here)?

I'd run it down to like 30 miles range and park it. In the spring, fill it with premium. Battery tender if you like.

But really I just take mine out for a cruise once a month (on a day when the roads are dry) :-)

I called my local MB service manager, he said mix Sta-bil Marine additive to it and top it off. Run it for 15 minutes to get the sta-bil through the system. battery tender is a good idea but also start it every few weeks if convenient. Given the amount of miles I drive, the oil can be done once a year, in the spring seems to make more sense to me.

Keep my 63 Cab in a pretty well insulated garage in winter/bad weather, have never used Stabil nor a battery tender, start it weekly and take it out for a good run on the interstate when the roads are dry. Have had it 4 years/~20,000 miles in the midwest-runs great, the motor is a beast!
