I think my manual said 100k miles on the plugs. I think wires are a judgement call, I have the stock wires still at 160k. The spark plug wire removal wrench is worth every penny!

I will look into the plug wrench - I think I might replace my plugs, I notice a very slight shutter at times when idling - I figured I'd do them at the same time as my valve cover gaskets - thoughts?

Yep the lead removal tool is mandatory. So much easier. I changed both plugs and leads at 125,000km and didn't notice any change. Made me feel better though.

Ebay of course!
I actually made one from a offset box end wrench I had in my tool box because I tried to do it without buying one before I started. You may be able to find an offset open end wrench at a pawn shop for cheap if you like that sort of thing. 17mm, 11/16" should work.

Yep $12 from ebay. I did my C32 without it and the CLK with it. Its just the right angle to pop them off. Getting the new ones back on was a different story, they need to be pushed very hard to click into place.
