It's only a very small fee additional per year for personalized plates... We just go on DMV's website to see if the plate is available, then submit the paperwork (it has to be approved, so nothing inappropriate) they review the plate to make sure it's not inappropriate, though I don't know how some have slipped through the cracks, because I just saw "2bookoo" in CA... You are supposed to submit what it means as well, though anyone who's seen Full Metal Jacket knows what that would be in reference to. We can also order plates that have different backgrounds in CA, but it's limited to what's available, and that's a few more bucks in addition.

This is actually an interesting point because wikipedia does have them listed as C208/A208 and C/209 A/209. This site, and benzworld and a few others have them listed as W208/W209. I believe JonMBZ is correct, contrary to a few enthusiats sites.

Hey OGC320,
Its all good, I have a W124 SN on another site that normally post in the W208 section.
I am pretty sure you have to get banned to change your SN anyway.
Hopefully we are all here to give, learn and love. Fun helps too.
Happy Thanksgiving Folks,
Gator

Thanks for your input Jon. If we are getting very technical than yes you are probably correct. But since the 208 is built on the same frame as the w202 It works out. I love the plate its very unique. I really got it because I figured only Mercedes enthusiast would even understand it and it added a personal enthusiasts touch.
