Hi all,
My car still ran fine and all the fluids are topped off, but on stop/go traffic the temp gauge would hit 120 deg c. so i decided to take it to indy.
The indy said bad auxiliary fan(which includes module), and it was $1,100 parts plus 2 hours labor, PLUS 1 hour for diagnosis. He offered $850 on after market price for parts, but wouldn't budge on the 2+1 hours of labor. He claims to be cheaper than dealer, but I told him that dealer would always "waive" the diagnosis if i did the work there - and he said "nope."
Bottom line, I called another indy and he offered to do it for $650 parts plus 1 hour labor - and I'm now REALLY pissed off at the first one, esp as I've given him GREAT reviews in the past, but it changed ownership.
Does anyone have thoughts on this, and is the $650 and 1 hr labor sound reasonable now? Geez...gives indy a bad name - almost worse than dealers.
