W209 CLK55 Radio Reset? Would like to ask for assistance.
My bro just picked up an '05 CLK55 AMG.
He knows enough about Benzes from always having helped me on my former W208 CLK and my current W211 E55.
I have a quick question though...
The previous owner "lost" the navigation disc. He mentioned something about having to reset the radio or whatever.
Unfortunately, the radio wouldn't play any music / no sound. He messed around with it as he was driving it home and got it to play the radio.
However, the problem is... it's stuck on the "Mercedes Benz" welcome screen.
With me not knowing too much on the W209's, I would like to ask if there's an easy fix for this or if its an absolute necessity to have the navi disc to get things working properly.
My bro unplugged the battery and re-connected it. Didn't really change much.
Is there a procedure master electrical reset?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input.
My bro pulled out the head-unit because he was told by my guy that there's a CD stuck in there. He's trying to see if it'll work once the CD is out.
There's also another thing that he's noticing. He said that every morning, the unit works fine. Then 15 mins later or so, it goes straight back to the "Mercedes Benz" screen.
He's pretty upset cause we think that the previous owner withheld the issue about the unit and basically told us... "you just need some sort of factory CD or some kind of reset". That effing @ssh0le. (I say that cause he also withheld other "issues" that he intentionally didn't tell us about.)
Like you guys mentioned, if that head-unit is done, he'll most likely upgrade the unit to aftermarket.
