can someone point me to a good DIY for replacing the transmission mount? I may also try to replace the motor mounts. Thanks

I'd be interested in a tranny mount R&R as well. I just picked up a replacement for my CLK55 from http://www.autohausaz.com/ for $28 but haven't done it yet, too cold.

I found these:

http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w140...ion-mount.html (super annoying auto play ad after the first post)

what up man. i know we havent got together yet...

i got my 3 mounts from autohauz. i took them to auto extreme (91st just north of bell road)

they werent too happy using my own parts but said they'd do the work with no warranty. 4 hours labor came to just under $400. I could not for the life of me get to the motor mounts. Trans i maybe could have done myself but there was no point

there is a link on here that i've seen on how to DIY this but i couldnt even get at the top of the motor mounts.

I did the tranny mount on my CLK55 last week. Was easy, only 4 bolts. I think 2 on the bottom were 13mm and the other 2 were 15mm.
Not much height to work with the front wheels up on ramps.
I had jacked up the tranny from underneath but it still dropped about 1/2" when the last bolt came out. Was a bit startling.
Completed in about an hour. 1/2 that was getting everything ready

I have a small 1 ton jack that I started with but felt it was putting too much pressure on a 2" wide space.
So I stopped and swapped in this one http://www.harborfreight.com/2-ton-a...ump-61406.html which has about a 4" wide flat jacking surface. I jacked towards the back/drain bolt. Didn't flex the pan.

In the future you should probably put a piece of plywood or 2x6 between the jack and the pan.

The transmission mount is easy - takes about 10 minutes. The motor mounts require removing the exhaust system at the headers. A tough job to do with the car on jackstands.

No need to drop the exhaust on the W209 to do the motor mounts, loosen steering rack, stabilizer bar, and cooling lines it will be enough room to put the mounts in from the front.
