W208 axle shaft
looking to change my car's (2002 clk55) axle shaft to newer style without c-clips, does anyone know which one ones are compatible? I have quaife diff that's fully closed and hence can't use the c-clips. Right now I'm using bolt setup created by birdsauto to keep them in place but would prefer a more "oem" setup.

They should be using an OEM installed axle.
If the third member was shipped with axle flanges I could be wrong. If they built it we can dis assemble.
Options would be a circlip which acts like a spring lock used on 90% of front wheel drive cars. We just pry with gentle force to remove.
If you have an Image it might help.

Gator MB is correct, the single wire loc or clip is used. install the shaft and if it seems easy to remove the shaft, take the clip off and stretch it open a bit untill it needs a bit of a tug to remove.
