Alternative Front Rotors for W208?
So, I am in need of new front rotors. I am not super excited to shell out 500 for the pair of rotors when I could theoretically upgrade to W209 CLK55 rotors and calipers for less (most likely as the cost of two front rotors for the 209 is less than one front rotor for the W208 on autohausaz). The issue I am having is finding a set of front calipers off of a W209 CLK55 or any other calipers that would be compatible with the W209 rotors on my W208 55.
What other calipers would work for the 209 55 rotors on my 208?
Another option would be to try to find an alternative front rotor (preferably drilled and/or slotted but not necessary) that fit with my current stock calipers, but I can't seem to find anything good that isn't more expensive than stock rotors.
Does anyone have experience with aftermarket W208 CLK55 front rotors?
Worse case scenario I end up buying stock rotors as I won't settle for cheap parts that don't fit or work properly, but I would like to avoid this if possible. The car is not a daily driver so I'm in no real rush to replace. Thanks again everyone. And if you're going to comment to tell me to search the forums/google then please don't waste your time as I've spent a fair amount of time doing this already and I will continue to do it until I find an answer.

Hey Ian! If my memory serves me correctly, there was a gentleman on here that was making brackets to hang a 209 caliper on the 208. Or I could just be remembering a dream. Hahaha I think besides something custom the only other options are big brake kits that will run up in the $2k range. I am also in need of front rotors but I don't really mind spending the money on factory replacements just because of how long they will last.
If I get a chance later I will try to find the thread I was reading last year about those brackets.

What MAgma is referring to is the bracket that allows you to connect to the the 6 pot calipers.
The 4 pot found on 1st gen 209 amg and clk550, c32, c55 can be had for around $300 for the set. And are a direct bolt on.

I went with OEM Zimmerman Parts geek and Pelican can be had for around $450 pair shipped.
I had a nice link saved for cross drilled and hatched with pads for 360.00 but the site recently upgraded.
do not plan on drilling the OEM Zimmermans yourself unless you are real crafty. These cooling vanes are custom crafted for this car and will likely out cool any rotor on the market including the big brake kit from stop tech.
My original AMG Zimmerman rotors had 180,000 without any sign of warpage just thin and lipped bad.

Nice Upgrade, Was it a bolt on or did you have to have the W209 brackets.
W209 has rack and pinion steering which makes spindle swap a catastrophe.
Curious, Gator
This was the bookmark but the W208 was discontinued when I called. Owner said to keep checking and was positive in sales for rare parts.

I think he meant "bleeder" should be at the top, cause bleeding must be from top of each calipers..

Whoa! What did I miss? I have to do brakes on my W208 CLK55. I can swap on W209 CLK55 4 piston calipers and rotors without modification and they are cheaper and better??? What about rear brakes?
I just paid $255 each for front rotors, but they're still in the box. Please help me learn more about this.
Thanks!!!

^+1^,
I done that many times, brakes from W209 CLK500/55 or W203 C32/55, 345mm 4-pot brakes are good to go, don't have any issues with em,
for Rears, you can go with W209 CLK55/63 or R171 SLK55, 330mm 4-pot brakes..
