yesterday I my checked engine light came on, The code it gave me was for the MAF. So instead of first buying one. I took it out and cleaned it. Soon as I start the car check engine light is gone, but now I have clicking behind the dash now, Which from what i've researched is a stepper motor. Of course this could all also be a random act of the AMG gods 05' CLK 55

My question is could a bad MAF affect the stepper motor?

I can't see how. Is the clicking just when you start the car or all the time?

Sounds like my seatbelt breaking along with the heated seat and parking sensors all at the same time (but all unrelated). I think our cars like to break everything all at once for fun.

That is a stepper motor and no the MAF is not affecting it.

Yep stepper motor. Both my Benzes have had it. Dealer told me it doesn't matter just the clicking and $2k to fix.

It can be fixed for about $25 and a couple of hours of your time. I did 2 of them on my c32.
