Front brake disc on W209 CLK55 face lift model

Hello members.
Please forgive me but I am in a bit of a confused state here. I have read up about it before and found a thread with dimensions and a lot other info. This salvage yard I visited last week assured me that I don't have the bolt on type disc and that my car is the same as the W203 disc. There is a CLK63 lying there with calipers already gone which I informed them that my disc looked exactly the same. They are still of the opposite belief than myself. Anyone know if the face lift dual exhaust model W209 55 CLK had the CLK63 disc as mine do have bolts around the disc on the inner part of the hub holding what looks like another type of brake pad or some bracket onto it. Maybe its something to do with the wear detection for the sensors.
Haven't measured the size but my car has OEM Merc AMG 18'' wheels on her.

As I understand it, the front rotor diameter for the 04 CLK55 was larger than the 05 CLK, I believe 345 mm vs 340 mm. However the offset was also different. Your car's previous owner may also have upgraded or changed the rotors.

BTW I haven't heard of the 04 CLK55 coming from the factory with the quad exhaust. Was that added by a previous owner?

I wouldn't bank on anyone changing brake size here on an old Merc. Well not that old but I am 2nd owner so to speak unless you consider the garage as an owner then they the actual 2nd owner but then I am 3rd. The caliper is still the OEM one and there is only one Merc salvage yard here in my State.
NB that I am from South Africa hey. Our 2004 models and 2005 models did have dual exhaust at the rear. My car was actually assembled in France and shipped to South Africa back in the year 2004 and like I said, I have the face lift model. Wouldn't have settled for pre face lift with singual exhaust at the rear.
Like I said if the previous owner changed then he would have fitted the exhaust, disc and calipers. My carfax doesn't show any brake work done at Merc so no idea.

I believe your car was assembled in Bremen, Germany, not France. Have you run your VIN through this site to get your official build list?

Also curious: Do you have 6-piston front calipers or 4-piston front calipers? Four-piston rear calipers or 2-piston rear calipers?

If you have !
- 4 plots front calipers you need 345*30 discs (CLK 55 MK1) : A2034210912

- 6 plots front calipers you need 340*32 discs (CLK 55 MK2) : A1714210112

CLK 63 has 6 plots front calipers with 360*32 discs (same as SLK 55 BS or PP) : A2094210112

If you have "W209 CLK63" Rotors, they should be (360x32),,

but if you have "R171 SLK55" Rotors, they will be (340x32)..!!

thank you all for the responses

Like Tex mentioned, mine looks like that 2nd one. My disc looks like the photo in number 3 which looks the same as Ambit's pic.

Didn't check if they 4 or 6 pot callipers. Both my callipers have the AMG logos on them. Will see today.
Floridawriter I will check now and tell you what it says there.

Florida writer, much appreciate that link. Atleast I know what all the car has on it thanks to the initial owner who had purchased what seems like all the extras to me.
From what I gather by the looks of it, my car has 6pot front and 4 pot rear callipers.

I pondered over this last night. To be honest the only W209 CLK55 I have seen with a single exhaust with dual tip is the cabriolet. I haven't seen a coupe here with that. All the coupes I have seen look like mine with that quad exhaust system at the rear.

Khan 55: I think your CLK is an 05. The 04 came with the 4-piston front calipers and 2-piston rears. The 05 was the first year that AMG added the quad tailpipes.

Shukran Jazeelan Zayed. I am really confused now. I have seen that C32's had the 4 pot and 2pot rear calliper but my 55 doesn't have this. I will see if I recall today to have a look and determine what it is.

My brother took some pics for me as he is off this week. I do indeed have brakes like Tex posted in the 2nd photo. So it must be 6 front and 4 rear.
Once again Zayed shukran for that splendid news. Better braking power with more $$$ to spend lol

Kan 55, the delivery date on my 05 is June 28, 2004. In the list of codes you will see either "804 YEAR OF PRODUCTION" or "805 YEAR OF PRODUCTION". Mine lists 805 meaning an 05 CLK.

Checked the car upon arrival at home yesterday afternoon. Have 6 front and 4 rear pot callipers.

Florida writer, just checked that info now and indeed it does have the coding amongst others mentioning 805 year of modification. Didn't know that's how it worked.
Thanks for teaching me tons guys. Really appreciate all the feed back.
