Hi.
I already have an AMG E55. I was thinking of purchasing an AMG clk55.
Are these two cars very different to drive?
In what way?
Thank You in advance for your reply.

none... for now
While I don't own either, it's pretty simple.
Same drivetrain.
6" of wheelbase and 400lbs of difference.
Only amounts to one thing.
Personally I'd look at a w209 if you're want to change things up. More modern looks, updated interior, and the 5.4 with more hp/more revs/less torque still in a lighter shell.

E55 AMG (SOLD), EvoSport CLK (SOLD), 2013 GsxR 750 (SOLD)
When I still had my W208, it was a blast to drive. Easy to squeeze in and out of lanes through tight spaces, has a sportier look than a sedan, lighter than the W210, etc.
Although I've never drove a W210 E55, I've ridden in one. You can feel the weight difference.
To answer your question... it's really not much different. You'll probably notice the weight and not much else.
I guess at the end of the day, they're both amazing cars. It comes down to preference.

I have both. Compared to the W210 E55 the CLK, has a tighter steering feel and to me (perhaps subjective) a quicker throttle response. The CLK also feels faster from a takeoff and marginally faster in passing traffic. Its handles better without a doubt.
That said, the E55 has its virtues. On a roll, it feels nearly as fast. Personally, I feel the E55 is better put together. My CLK55 creaks a bit when at odd angles, i.e. going down driveways, likely due to the fold down seats. The E55 is also quieter on the highway and feels more luxurious.
Both great cars. You can't go wrong either way.

Absolutely love my W208! The chassis is rock solid, handles great, and has outstanding torque. I love the livability of it as well. Very easy to cruise.
I've never driven a E55 but rode in a couple different ones. They feel more brutishly fast, not as controlled as my CLK. I could be wrong, but that's my opinion. That being said, the interior on the E55 seems a little nicer and has a ton more interior space.
Personally, you can't go wrong with either selection.
