2002 CLK55 AMG Cabriolet headrests won't go down
My hear headrests for my 2002 CLK 55 will not go down, I put them up and the motor made a funky noise and now they simply will not go down. This affects the convertible and the top wont go down anymore, which sucks.
I've looked at manually putting the headrests down but I wasn't sure if my model would be able to, I've looked hard for release latches but I cannot find them.
Help!

2002 CLK 55 AMG cabriolet Eurocharged
Hi Jake,
There are a lot of DIY posts for this problem in the non-AMG CLK forum.
The headrest main problems are leak and roll bar activation spring retainers.
To discover which issue you might have check all fuses and hydraulic fluid level. If Low remove the rear seat and check for fluid leak first.
You can also try a battery disconnect reset and see if they will hunt for home.
Worst case scenario - 3 of the 4 wheels were airborne while the car was powered in motion. If you were playing Ferris Beuller parking attendant then a star c 3,4 connection can reset the fault.
Cheers
