After lots of searching for the right car it appears that W209 55's are somewhat rare in the UK. I finally found a peach 2003 one with 80k on the clock, but there only seemed to be three coupes for sale in the UK. Were there not many sold or are people hanging on to them ?

I have found them to be relatively rare compared with other amg's. There are between 0-3 on sale in my country at any one time. There were none for sale for 6 months or so at one point. Sounds like the guys in the US often end up travelling a long way to find the right one. I have seen one w208 but never another w209 clk55 in real life.

I think they are more rare in other countries because of gas prices.
