Just read the PL posts. Penalty box seems unwarranted IMO, but it's their site so they can set and interpret the rules as they see fit. I think they misjudged their core and were not prepared to candidly respond to the critique. Which when you think about it doesn't make sense given that its an enthusiast site operated by or for AMG. At the same time, in taking this action against JRCART, they may have also misjudged their audience and the degree to which they care about the apparent dilution of the brand. I and I'm sure many other owners understand that AMG is a for profit business and that ultimately, appeasing the die-hard followers of the brand is worth addressing only to the extent that it translates to their bottom line. When it is of little consequence (as it would appear in this case) they'll monetize the branding at the expense of losing that die-hard follower(s). In their defense, I suspect that their ability to sell more AMG dressed up regular MB's allowed them the freedom to produce what was probably a money loser (any BS). They probably sell the projects to the bean counters as a promotional effort. So, personally, its irrelevant. I'm happy that they had the ***** to produce a CLK BS AND undertake the expense to have it certified for the US. I and most owners probably enjoy it for what it is irrespective of their branding.

Unlike those who portend to have power

Ya, but if you skim the whole 35 page thread, the discussion started getting personal and IMO "below the belt" at a couple of points. This was mixed with warnings by Lounge admin, before they pulled the trigger. All quite entertaining though.
