Evosport CLK63 Black Series....is this car perpetually for sale??

I am really wondering about the Evosport CLK63 Black Series that is on AutoTrader right now. It seems to spend a lot of time for sale, and is now in Colorado for sale again (it was for sale in Chicago for a LOOONG time previously).

Does anyone have any input on this? Are people just getting bored, or does this car have some issues?

Sorry but that B.S. is selling for more than I am looking to spend

I have not followed this car that close

I may be wrong but there may be more as to why the

the steering wheel was replaced on 10/21/2014

If I find out anything about this B.S.

I will post it here

Thank-You

Interesting. I remember seeing the previous "new" owner post photos on the AMG Private lounge. Seemed like just a few months ago. I'm also curious to know if there's something wrong with the car?

On a side note. I really want that Vorsteiner front lip!

Not sure but it seems like it had some electrical problems

at one time - not sure if it was related to the reason for

the steering wheel being replaced

This was before I started taking notes and tracking

all CLK B.S. so don't quote me on this

If you have a friend / S.A. at the dealership they may

be able to look up the service records to see what

service was done under warranty

Thank-You

Car between $8-9K too high based on current market. But a lot of these dealers don't take the time to research the best price point, especially on limited production cars, and simply hope for that next "live one" to walk thru the door

Maybe not, considering that a 34K mile multiple owner silver BS supposedly sold at Manheim last month for $60K.

Was kinda surprised by that number myself. Maybe the market is firming up?

Hear ya and am not sure how auction vehicle was equipped, but $60K wholesale for a 34K mile Black, regardless of condition isn't supported by what these appear to be selling for on the open market. Selling price depends on experience of the buyer and knowledge of the market, which is demand driven. That said, maybe this is the beginning of a market swing, based on the limited number of Blacks, where the market stabilizes, or even swings upward...I hope!

If 997.1 and .2 GT3's and GT3 RS's can have 20 - 25% upswings in pricing, why not a limited edition track ready car like the CLK BS? Apples and oranges? Maybe not? They're definitely enthusiasts cars. Both have retired equipment considered nostalgic (6.3 L N/A V8 vs. manual trans). Very limited numbers. One thing that I suspect may help BS pricing in the future is greater visibility. Third and fourth owners are driving them more. They're at DE events and C&C's. So those in the market looking for a pre-owned weekend toy in the $60 - $80K range may now be aware that they have options beyond a used Porsche 997, Audi R8 V8, AM Vantage, or Ferrari F355 or 360 that needs to be serviced. You wont see yourself coming and going, and no real service issues (at least that I'm aware of). Just a thought.

You have a point and the collector car market is fickle...hope you're right. Top tier vintage Toyota FJ40s have taken off in the last couple of years, are approaching $100K and one has even topped that price...would not have imagined that 5 years ago....holding on to my '78!

Evidently the perpetually on 'check engine' light is still a factor with this car.

I think this B.S. has had an electrical glitch

for quite sometime

Not sure why the dealer can't fix the problem

but service records may show what they think it is

BTW...this is a real surprise, least to me. Be interesting to track prices over the next year or so, to see where the value of these cars is headed.

The check engine light ended up being a combination of a few factors. The car had no catalytic converters, the O2 sensors were toasted because of that (and the wrong O2 sensors were installed in the first place), and there was an issue of something not being grounded correctly. These issues have now been fixed, and the car has no check engine light and is running as it should from what I was told (which was supported by documentation).

The pricing actually sounds about right. Any car this limited will have somewhat inconsistent pricing. They seem to be holding steady in the last 6 months or so.
