Need help selecting wheels

Hey guys. i'm new to MBworld but I've heard great things. I recently purchased a 2012 CLS550 and it came with the stock wheels which I really don't like. I thinking about buying 20'' XO Matte Back Milans or something similar to that look. Can someone suggest the proper width as well suggest tires (brand and size). Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Your stock offsets are ET48 rears and ET 34.5 fronts. I would go with 20x10 or 10.5 rears and 20x8.5 fronts. With a 20x8.5 and 20x10 setup you will probably go with an offset anywhere between 25-27 fronts and 33-36 rears. Of course, it's personal preference but these are some good guidelines to start with. I think you can go a little more aggressive but this will depend on the look you are going for. I would personally stay away from those XO wheels or anything along the lines of a cheap cast rim. I'd go with a nice set of forged wheels like HRE's if you're willing to shell out the $$. If not then just roll stock.........roll hard or roll stock is what I say. Those cheap cast wheels don't belong on our cars....just my opinion.

JC, thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it! unfortunately HREs are out of my price range. I'm only looking to spend about $3,500.

I'd agree to possibly skip the lower end wheels just to save time, headaches, your ride quality, tires and alignment and probably something else too. The deals are out there and there are lots of sets that guys are just sitting on: yes speaking from experience LOL.......I have a bunch of sets for sale, but not any 20's, sorry, never could go that large......don't give up, the deals are OUT THERE

I'd also add I think Vossen and Mandrus make a decent product; try them as well

Same here

I just picked up a 2012 CLS550 with AMG sport wheels
While I don't mind the stock wheels all that much I'd really like to put something better on the car.

What is HRE? a wheel brand?

Thanks for any pointers. Obviously I'm really new here so be kind.

Thanks,

TR

Yes......HRE is a company that makes high end forged aluminum wheels.
