SL STYLE 1 FIN GRILLE ON CLS

You folks like this 1 fin SL style grille or should I keep the 2 fins grille. I'm leaning towards putting back the 2 fins. I'll give it a couples more week to see if it grows on me.

With your color white the 1 fin grill looks and a lot better than the 2 fin.

How did you get the 1 fin? Can you share it with us. I too have a white beast.

The thickness of the surround framing the 3 pointed star is not as thin and even as the original SL grill - at first glance, I thought photoshop, but I guess it is a knockoff of the original. The CLS sport grill looks better

Here you go. Did you ever got your car lowered yet. Let me know if you still need the info from the shop I did it at. They have moved since BMW took over the lot. Anyhow the 1-fin SL style are available in black with chrome trim, silver, and white on ebay. The quality is superb, just like OEM. It took only 3 days from the day I ordered to arrive to Westlake.

The one fin looks too soft. For a second I thought the car looks was an older SLK. Needs to look a little more agressive in my opinion since it's such a big car.

It is starting to. I think if I get the Carlson front lip it will look much better giving the front end more volume. I like the simple/clean look of it creating a cleaner line. It actually looks better in person than in the picture. I'll see once I get the lip whether to put back the 2 fins or 3 AMG fins style. I agreed it doesn't look as aggressive but that's not what I'm going for, otherwise I will just keep the black rim and tinted my rear lights etc..

FYI I just ordered and received the Carlson knockoff lip from ebay. Quality looks pretty good and it was $200 delivered. Gonna have it painted and mounted this week. I found a good guy on Sepulveda south of Roscoe that is a Benz repair and paint shop. He blacked out my grill for $150 and did a great job.

Let me know if interested in getting a lip as I have been in contact with the ebay seller and told him if it looks good I may have a couple people interested on the boards.

Is it made of fiberglass? If not, I would love to get to one. Otherwise, I might purchase it from Eurorev (fully CF). Fiberglass tends to chip off easily since the lip is very close to the ground and having to repainting it every month is a pain. Please post some pictures once installed. Thx

1-Bar Grilles for the CLS are marketed through 55 Tech Motors and they have it in white with chrome front edges http://www.55tech.com/index.php?main...roducts_id=365 but are sold by the same folks (jakuo) on ebay at about half the price as the 55 Tech web site: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/W219-...item3ef7c9f4f7. I bought the AMG Style 3-Bar Grille in Silver color on Ebay from them and am very happy with the fit and quality. The grille is made of plastic, not fiberglass.

Hey AP - I bought the single fin grill, but I haven't put it on yet. Where did you get the 2 fin grill and how much did you pay? Another nice option to have.

I just put on the clear corners and chrome bulbs, and its noticeable difference, looks great now. I was thinking of putting the illuminated door sills as well has anyone done this on a CLS?

Car is at the dealer now. When I get it back I;m going to take some pics and post. Its been sooo crappy outside lately!

Hey guys, I have the single fin grill for sale, same one as pictured on this thread for $120 bucks shipped. I paid $160 for it plus shipping. Brand new, never installed. I opened the box though, and showed my wife and she doesn't want me to change the grill from OEM, since its her car. So I have to sell it. PM me if interested. It comes with an original OEM mercedes star. I will list this on EBAY as well if this helps thanks guys.
