Asking other 06-10 CLS owners for a visual check

INFO: My 2006 does not have the keyless go. I need to insert my key.

My question is this.

At Night, when i insert my Key, i do it blindly.
The ring around the cylinder looks like it should light up, but it does not.
Can I have fellow owners report to me if their ring around the ignition key slot lights up a night for easy key insertion viewing ?

the MB dealer told me it does not, but i think he was guessing, and i'm pretty sure i've seen picks of this ring lit up. I cant find any info about a fuse or where its located.

Thanks in advance to the Forum members. I'm determined to resolve this, its been bugging me since i got the car.

06 CLS500.... No light where ignition key is inserted.

No light, but your dome light shouldn't go OFF till you insert the key into ignition hole.

So just set the dome light Button correctly, and you'll see where to insert your key.

I thought US models were full options... Instead of european models.
