Correct spare tire for CLS500 and where to get

Having trouble finding what is the correct spare tire for my CLS500 so that I can get hold of one. Can anyone educate me with a bit of knowledge on this?

My 2007 came with one are you sure you don't already have one in the trunk? In the past I have used Tire Rack and they system is pretty good you can type in your car info. and it will give you all the options that will guarantee fit your car. Even if u don't buy from them you'll be able to see what's out there. Or better yet call any dealer's parts dept. and give them your vin.

I'm quite positive that I don't have one in the trunk. I didn't think to check Tire Rack for a spare. I'll do that today. Don't want to go to the dealer as their prices are inflated by over 100%.

Do you have to get OEM spare? I got one from tire rack for my non-MB last year and it was cheap like $120 and I asked the tire guy to mount the old tire onto the spare when I was getting 2 new Michelins. As long as it is the same size any rims can be used as spare.

Did you mean oem spare 18" rim? I don't think there is enough room in the trunk tire space for a full tire. As far as I can tell.

I owe you a "mea culpa"...... I didn't know that the spare tire was below a second lid that had to be raised!!

Got tired of looking for a new spare tire.... couldn't find one that fits this car at all. Called my Mercedes mechanic and he said, "are you sure you don't have one" and of course you know my answer. He said bring it down.. I have one for you. Brought it down and he showed me mine. He knew it was there 'cause he just changed the battery last week :-)

Egg on the face!
