W219 CLS 350 7g 2004 ABS/ESP Check engine
Hi
Ive got a cls 350 7g 2004
started the car in the morning check engine light flashed a few times , and after 10 seconds it stayed and did not go off anymore
engine went 5 cilinder, when my car got warm and turn off the key and restart it goes 6 cilinder again.
but this time ive also had a new problem, i was on the highway suddenly esp/abs warning message came and i wasnt able to shift (D/P/N/1/2/3/4/5/6) didnt show
car goes max. 70/kmh
look at the video:
can somebody help me with this problem?

The ABS is the base system, and it generates a speed signal that is used in the engine management. The ESP and probably BAS lamp is on because these 2 systems run in the ABS.
Abs problem are either a front sensor or rear sensor/reluctance ring rusted, the car should go on STAR as you can spend a lot of time and money searching for a fault, STAR will tell you the corner with the fault.
With no speed sensor the engine does not know what to do in relation with the gear box, and the system locks up for safety.
The brake lamp switch could be the problem, but not sure, but its well know to kill the speed signal within the ESP ECU. They only cost a few £$ and easy to fit.
If the speedo still works, then still some speed signal.
