08 CLS550 Secondary Air Location
Could somebody help me locate the relay for the secondary air pump? Also the correct p/n.
My 08 cls550 has the check engine light come on. P0410 comes up, secondary air. The air pump seems to be Ok, I can hear it run and shut off. I am hoping it is something simple, like a bad relay. If it could be something else please advise me. Thanks
Bob

Did anyone ever locate the air pump relay for your car? i was wondering the same for my '06 CLS 500, which may vary since the secondary air pump on an MY06 varies from future MY's.

Yes i went to my MB dealer and one of the tech's pointed it out to me. I did change that and the little valve , which is near the secondary air pump. The check engine light still comes on and I have no idea why. Probably the next step is to take it to my dealer and have them check it out. Thanks for asking.

btw, i've been told, if you've replaced your pump, valve, and relay, to also check the fuse and hose line it connects to, i've heard the check engine light go on because of a leak in that hose.

Yes it is the (R) relay next to 61 fuse. Now I did not change the pump, I can hear the pump run. Now they recommend to change the check the little check valve also. It is blue and is left of the SAP.
I have a code reader and know when the check light comes on. When the engine is cold and I start the car, the idle goes to 1100 rpm. After maybe 15 seconds it drops down to 900 rpm than shortly after that it will drop down to around 700 rpm. After about 5 to 6 seconds is when the check light comes on. Do you know if this is the same situation with your car? I hope this has helped you.

I did check the fuse (which was fine) and swapped the relay and check valve, pump still didn't turn on. I did end up swapping the pump afterwards. Everything is working now, I hear the pump (i think).
When the CEL first came on, only one code appeared (P410), after swapping everything, I did one last read and several came on (P410, P452, P446, P410 Pending, and P446 Pending), I assumed they were all related so I cleared the codes and so far it hasn't re-appeared.
