Trunk Handle Inner Latch Sticking

Does anyone have a solution to loosen the trunk handle inner latch? I've normally used the buttons and remote in the past but noticed that the inner latch started sticking in it's pulled position and prevents the convenience button on the trunk lid from working.

I'm tempted to just spray some WD-40 in the crevices of the latch but wanted to see if anyone here has any other suggestions.

That's all I did. A shot of graphite lube. Hasn't stuck again in over a year.

i tried smearing some Superlube in the crevices of the handle and it still sticks, any other ideas I should try OR does anyone have the instructions to remove the handle from the trunk so I can give it a proper cleaning and greasing?

Don't lube the crevice, lube the hinge. Shoot some graphite/WD-40 onto the pivot points.

The problem is getting lube onto the pivot points. I've tried pushing lube onto those pivot points with small thin picks and other items but it doesn't seem to work well considering how viscous this lube is (SuperLube), I may try cleaning it out again and spraying WD-40 as it's a lot thinner and can spread more easily in the area.

It's alot more involved than I anticipated, but overall it ain't too bad just a lot of fasteners and bolts :-P

I'll try it when I have a free day to do it!

come to think of it, I think I used SuperLube. I must have just gotten lucky with my spray.

good luck
