Lower grille on front bumper - removal
Would somebody help me understand how to remove the lower grille (P/N 219 885 1923), in the front bumper?
I can't see any screws so I assume there are clips of some sort.
Much obliged,
Rick H

Close. The nose on the C219 changed almost every year of production. On the 2009 C219, the lower grille pulls out from the front, but no electrical connections, however. Just remove the license plate and bracket, if you have one.
It is a little tedious to get in behind the grille to unhook the barbs. I used a piece of wire (stiffer than a coat hanger). My original was broken so I didn't care if I trashed it in the process, but I didn't want to gouge up the bumper.
I can post some photos if you want, but I will not be back at my computer until Saturday.

Here you go. 3 photos that show enough detail. If this is still not helpful, I recommend visiting the dealer and asking to see one. The first photo is the part number of the 09 lower grille (including the color). If you have a different model year, yours is most likely different, including how it attaches.
I used a stiff wire, formed into a right angle and reached through the diamond openings.
Let me know how you make out!
