this definitely proves that wvo works fine without any of the problems described in certain threads.

I think good filtering is the most important part.

greg, which filters do you use in your car and what kinda filtering do you prior to putting in your car?

The car's filter system is described in the link to the conversion done on the SDL.

I currently use a bowl centrifuge to process my oil.
I have used a settle, heat, filter into second barrel, settle, heat, filter into storage tote, system in the past.
A cold up-flow system will also produce high quality oil at the lowest capital investment.

sorry, forgot to click on that link last time. I see you invented the whole system yourself. and not bought like a greasecar kit.

could you explain to me what a cold up-flow system is.

the guy I bought the car from said he used 5 gallon 5 micron bagfilters. hung them up in his shed, fill them up and let drip overnight or longer when cold weather. than in the car he uses a napa gold 3373 filter, but when I did some research and cross reference, many filters popped up I could use. I gues as long as they slide in the heated filter coils.

FWIW, I ran a GreaseCar kit in my VW Golf TDI for ~4 years. But the car was always breaking, mostly related to other things than the engine or Grease Car kit. If I were to do it again I would filter by centrifuge. I was only using socks filters.

I have since sold the car to a good friend (minus Grease Car kit) and it has been running fine. If anyone needs to hear my story, you can find it over on tdiclub.com.

I'm still pro-GreaseCars, just not on my dime at this time.
