C320 CDI
No DPF and Software upgrade.
My car is a 2008 C320 cdi V6. It has no particulate filter - I confirmed this with the agents and personally saw this for myself when the car was on a lift.
At the last service earlier this month before end of warranty I complained about the gearbox that gave a rather hefty kick in the back from 2nd into 3rd after slowing down eg a speed bump and then accelerating again. Normally the 'box is smooth for all up-changes.
The agents then downloaded the latest engine software - and the box is smoother yes, as the engine ecu and gearbox ecu talk to each other, but still not perfect. I suppose I will have to live with it.
The thing that did change was a very significant performance improvement - the response is live wire and it feels as if the engine is just pleading the whole time to give it it's head...really really nice!
What I suspect is that this is the 195kw and 620 nm software as used on the 2011 onwards 3-litre facelift V6's.
The agents were a bit cagegy about letting the cat out of the bag for obvous reasons - but it worked for me!!
