Injectors going south at 78K? OM642 is really this unreliable?

The last 6 months have just been one nightmare after another with my car. First the turbo plumbing cracked and caused limp issues and had to be replaced, then part of my wiring harness melted, and now I'm throwing all sorts of codes about fuel rail pressure and intake manifold flap:

P0191: Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Range/Performance
P0087: Unknown code - More information may be available on the web
P2008: Intake Manf Runner Control Circuit/Open bank1 a)
P2047: Reductant Injector Circuit/Open bank1 Unit 1

My mechanic thinks it's the flap and at least one injector based off of my description (I'm taking the car there over the weekend). How ridiculous is this, or is it to be expected? I thought about just dumping this thing before it costs anymore money and throwing my money at a 335D, but reading their forums has me scared to own one of those out of warranty as well..

My mechanic has STAR SDS, autologic and all of that good stuff. I'm located 120 miles away and am just using my Torque Android OBDII scanner to get an idea of what's going on before making the trip. I still go to my old mechanic in my hometown, which is inconvenient, but at least I get to visit my hometown while I'm there. The codes just came from my OBDII app, I'll get a real idea of what's going on tomorrow, but I wanted to see if anyone had experienced similar issues.

Hot Water?

I know this is an old thread, but DubvBenz, did you by any chance apply hot water to your fuel rails prior to your injectors going down?
