CDI lacks acceleration power

Just got a new to me 2006 e320 CDI
the 0-60 is at 9-10 seconds
1000 mile road trip at 80-05 mph yielded 35mpg
Durring WOT there is a little black smoke but not excessive

Air filter looks dirty Just ordered a new one
Going to change the fuel filter

after research, some explanations I've heard of include:
clogged EGR can I just unplug this?
clogged CAT how do I know its clogged?

Clogged intake port and m-55 motor I know nothing about this

Has anyone had this problem and what did you do?
I want this car to run like a "raped ape"
Thanks in advance

How much time miles/km is on this motor? Stock tuning was only 204 bhp or less in some versions? If it still has EGR and CAT it's not shocking to see some black smoke under boost, mine did the same stock? On mine I welded up a new downpipe from turbo to first flange fitting to remove catalyzer, programmed out egr and raised boost and FP limits slightly via a flash tuner. I replace fuel filters every 2-3 oil changes though I cannot say I've ever really felt a power gain, I've replaced the air filter only once in 60k miles I've owned the car and that did help a tiny bit, I also modified air entry point into airbox feed tube, no felt gain there either. All that said mine now sits around 250 bhp, gets 5-7mpg better than stock, zero black smoke ever and I'm perfectly happy with it...till the next round of mods I guess.

Btw, if swirl flaps in inlet manifold are obstructed...power is reduced quite a bit.

Thank you for the response. There are 70k miles
What tuner/programmer did you use?
I also am getting a tuner, disabling the egr but wanted to make sure everything was up to snuff before I started into that and it just seams underpowered.
How do I get the the flaps?

They are right at the junction of the inlet manifold to the intake/cold side of the cylinder head, you have to remove the intake manifold. I'm using a lightly customized GDE or Green a Diesel Engineering flash tune.
