Has anyone been able to eliminate/delete the ad blue system?

Why would you bother? The additive is cheap and you don't have to add it often. I think the main advantage would be if you could get rid of the Adblu tank you'd have enough room for a full size spare.

Maybe he wants to remove the complexities of the adblue tank heater (which is known to fail). Or perhaps he is on his way to eliminating the DPF (diesel particulate filter) system entirely. Sometimes when these cars get old - its better to have a reliable dirty car than an unreliable one. Maybe not in the USA but in other countries where exhaust monitoring is not strict.
