How do I change my battery
I have a 2011 E-350 Blutec and it's time to change the battery. I opened the hood to take the battery out and couldn't even see it. I found where the battery cables are bolted into the system, but where I expected the battery to be (next to the firewall on the passenger side, there is a hard plastic box and I can't figure out how to remove the box to see if the battery is under it. I checked the trunk and the battery is not located there, so I'm pretty sure that it's under that hard plastic box next to the fire wall, but how do I access it??
Any assistance would be appreciated.

The owners manual doesn't show where the battery is, but I found it where I expected it to be. It's next to the firewall on the passenger side under a hard plastic cover. Using a flashlight I managed to find the fasteners that hold it down, so that I could remove it and find the battery. Now it's just finding the best battery to replace it.
Since the car was in my garage when the batter died I would have had to call AAA to come jump start it or tow it in to a shop, so it was much more convenient to just find the battery so that I can replace it myself.
Thanks to all for your assistance.

SKromfols,
It is best to go with a Absorbed Glass Mat battery of about 100 amp hours capacity. My OEM is the Varta brand.

Thanks Carsy I'll check into that. I recharged the original battery and it seems to be holding a charge (and I checked and my alternator is doing what it should). My thinking now is that my wife might have left something on when she parked the car in the garage, and we only use it about once a week, so even a small drain can add up.

Good news. My battery has lasted over 7 years in ideal conditions. Some batteries on this forum last over 10 so hopefully you have a way to go yet before replacement.
