Tachometer quits when ABS light comes on. Any ideas?
I recently bought a 1993 300D 2.5 Turbo. The tachometer was working great but for no apparent reason when the ABS light comes on the tachometer stops working. It will work fine for days (even weeks) and then stop. Last week the ABS light flashed on and off several times and the tachometer stopped and started in time with the light. Today, the ABS light came on, the tachometer quit, and the engine started missing when idling. Any ideas of what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

Out Of Control!!
My guess is that the hall speed sensor in the IC is getting faulty information from the abs system and without the diagnostics you are left with testing the wheel speed sensors--cutting through the crap the issue lies within the anti-lock brake system--find someone who knows the cars systems less you will be on a huge may pole ride!!
