W212 Bluetec - CLIC Hose Clamp Info

Guys, I am replacing the fuel filter on my 2013 E350 Bluetec with 68K. I have never run across these CLIC hose clamps. What is the best tool to use to get them off? Where do I find replacement hose clamps?

Clic Clamps

I bought my CLIC clamp pliers from Amazon. A good one runs about $30 if I remember correctly.

Since you only need a couple of CLIC clamps buy them from the dealer. They're cheap and the dealer will give you the exact sizes you need. The fuel filter uses two different size clamps I believe.

Some people use jubilee clamps but I prefer the CLIC clamps since they expand properly.

Be very careful when pulling the hoses off the fuel filter. Don't use a regular pair of pliers if you can avoid it. You don't want to risk "nicking" the fuel hoses and causing a leak. The longer of the two fuel lines is a complete assembly and is expensive to replace. Ask me how I know....

Sometimes it pays to keep 50 years old tools.

These are pretty good alternative. Available here: http://www.idparts.com/fuel-filter-h...42-p-5276.html
