Just read on Motor Trend & Automobile magazine that the E class Benz is getting a major redo for 2013. Here's some of it.
Looks like I may wait on my e550 coupe.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is selling in bigger numbers and the S-Class is earning bigger profits, but no other Mercedes is positioned closer to the core of the brand than the E-Class. An extensive reskin is slated for the 2013 model year and it eliminates most of the overly decorative styling cues while taking on numerous new technologies.
Most noticeable, the quad headlamps will be replaced with new single-piece multi-functional headlamp units. The E-Class will also take on a small army of cameras, lenses, and sensors that feed the more advanced driver assistance systems

Wow! Lexus and Hyundai are gonna sue MB for design copy... Hope they don't change the CLS that way...

meh.....those headlights are way too curvy and undefined in comparison with the side view and rear tail lights.....

The new technology sounds pretty interesting. With respect to styling, I actually like the 2012 face and rear pontoon styling better than these proposed changes for 2013, especially for the coupe.

Any more news on the E350 coupe with 4-Matic? When I was shopping a few months ago, the dealer told me it is supposed to come out in July or August as a 2013 model. But I was assuming the styling would be similar to 2012. It's all rumors. Would have considered waiting for the 4-Matic coupe, but my 1999 Maxima just couldn't make it that long!

Everything I've seen on the net seems to address 2013 sedans and wagons ... no specific references to a redesigned coupe. Regarding the E350C4 ... my dealer shows one hitting their dealership this May, which would be consistent with what MB told me about a March 2012 release. However ... everything is open to speculation. I myself was waiting for the 2013 E350C4, but they are talking about the mid-cycle refreshed 2013 E Class Sedans coming out "next" spring and the wagon "next" summer, which I read as Calendar year 2013. Don't think we'll know anything until they actually start hitting Baltimore ... or until the MB website says anything ... which it currently doesn't.

Very true, but I don't believe MB would do a major redesign on the E series and no include the coupe. We'll just have to wait and see.

It is interesting that 4Matic is being introduced to the current E350 coupe (presumably E550?) in April this year. Makes me wonder if we have another year of the current style coupe even if the 2013 sedan has a new look. When the current E class style came out, was there a delay between the sedan and coupe?

the latest from my dealer:
I'm shopping to order new E 350 Wagon and my dealer said small May build of wagons for US (June delivery) and then July build of 2013s for delivery in US in August. I'm likely to go for a 2013.

Is that consistent with what others have heard?
Will the Aug delivery 2013 E 350 Wagons have the newest updates like the 335 HP motor?
Very sweet if that was the case.
I love the look of the 2012 Wagon and hope they don't mess up the 2013....

Please post if you have info now or as more 2013 info becomes available.
