2012 E550 Coupe
My Stock E550C Ran a 12.428 1/4-mile!
I made it out to MIR's first test-and-tune yesterday and did a series of runs trying every combination of sport mode, dyno-mode, ESC on/off, etc. Best run of the day was 12.428 @ 115.13mph!
The car ran a consistent 12.5XX all day, and only hit 12.6 and 13.1 (!!!) due to poor launches and a ridiculous amount of tire spin. My friend in the stands said I had billows of white smoke coming off the tires all the way to the 60' line during the 13.1 run!! I blame it on the hot girl that distracted me just as the second yellow lit up.
Anyway, best results came from ESC off, Sport Mode on, transmission in manual mode but allowing the PCM to do panic shifts, and loading the TC with about 2300 rpm. Time slip below.
All of this was with the All-Season Continentals, so I'm motivated to invest in a set of max-performance Summer tires and see how much difference they make.
BTW, my friend brought his Tesla Model S (85kW version, not performance) and did three runs. His best was a 13.4XX - I can't remember the speed.

This car is definitely making more than 402hp/440ft.lbs. Take a look at this thread, particularly the last couple of posts:

Nawlins-
I took the liberty of clipping your post and getting it on another forum (PM me to inquire) positive comments from the other posters including this one from RennTech:
"Nice runs on your E550 CGI Coupe! Did you do try the run with roof on and off?"
(I believe he means open or closed). Not sure what that means.

Just did. Looks like it takes 12 hours for the site to update. Definitely the fastest E550, and I was a little surprised the 4Matic didn't have a better 60' time...

Run with 98RON fuel in 5th gear since is 1:1 but then hit the speed limiter!! lol that's why the line starts to go down.
Had almost 1000rpm more to push...
426,3cv @4944rpm at crank (331,4cv at the wheels)
656Nm @3607rpm

very cool. As a first time Benz enthusiast, I decided to get the 2010 E550, also looked at 2011. Did that because the 5.5 was their flagship engine for so long we felt it would be bullet proof towards the end of its life cycle. The data says the 5.5 can get down in the 4.8 range 0-60, not sure, what I do know is that we smoked a 2014 Mustang 5.0 and also handily beat an Audi A6 with the twin turbo. The newer E550 Coupes with the turbos, how have they held up?

Great time
Hey Nawlin, cant believe this post hasn't attracked more attention or
questions. That time is fantastic. I just purchased a 2013 E550 coupe and
cant wait to take it to the track. All stock, just put in aFe air filters.
So would like to ask what other little drag tricks you have done .... like:
higher press in front tires, take out spare and floor mats, water
wetter, gas, air filters .... etc. I see you did a 1.96 60ft which is good for
a stock tire.
Impressed .... Tom

In the interest of full disclosure, that run was made with my 19" setup - I had 285's on the rear. Those were Continental DWS all-seasons, though. I later changed to Bridgestone Potenza S04 Pole Position summer tires and they felt grippier but I never had a chance to track-test the difference.
As far as track tips, well.... I didn't do any! That was full dealer-delivery weight, with a full tank of gas, plus all the crap I normally carry in a daily driver (+ ~25lbs).
A few months after than run, I did upgrade to the Quaife LSD (I posted pics - search my posts) and test that. Honestly, the traction control system worked just as well. Not worth the money, but it was still fun to do.
FYI, I still have my final wheels/tires and they are for sale. If anyone is interested. https://mbworld.org/forums/wheels-ti...ml#post6731993
Despite what some people are saying about the setup, I had absolutely ZERO fitment issues. Of course, I got there with a small amount of trial and error

Thanks for the info. I have found in the past, traction is mostly related
to tire compound and construction. (drag radials) I cant believe you
didn't do any prep for your car...... great ! Weight is the easiest modification and I think I will go that route for first runs.
Do you remember how many gears you when through ? And how
about DA that day...... thx
Any one else have any track imput ?

Freaking nice numbers! I love the coupe! Now that I have uploaded the Stage 2 Tune and installed the Kleeman Headers and Cat delete, I'm gonna run mine at the track and see what I get. I'm also going to run another dyno...Mine is a 2010 E550 Coupe.
