Installing an amplified sub
Hey Guys,
I'm new to the E350 group.
Just picked up a 2011 E350 Coupe, Red/ beige loaded with 17,000 miles.
It also has the H/K Command system and I want to install an amplified sub in the trunk. As I did in my C63, I plan on using the rear SAM module for both power and as a switched source for the remote wire.
In the C63, fuse #76 is switched. The E350 SAM is entirely different from the C63 and I'm hoping for help in locating a switched fuse in the SAM.
If anyone knows of a good 12v power source in the rear to supply the amp, I would appreciate that info as well. I closely looked at the SAM and cannot see where the main power comes into the module.
Thanks
Bob

Let's try this again. I'm trying to find a switched fuse in the rear fuse panel so I can hook up the remote wire to my amplified sub. The MB dealer told me #56 is a switched fuse, but #56 is a blank outlet with nothing connected to it.
Posted in December and got no response. Any ideas on which fuse I can tap into?
Thanks
Bob

Man, sorry I wish I could help. Honestly, I don't see many postings regarding aftermarket audio modifications. I think most people are happy with the HK system in the car.
Perhaps a local auto audio installation place can give you some friendly advice if you are doing it yourself? You already asked the MB techs huh? Man I don't know what else you can do :/

Thanks. The MB tech said to tap into fuse #56. That location has nothing to tap into.
I think you are right. The HK system is starting to sound much better.
