Decided to try to plastidip the emblems and see how I'd like it. I figured I could just remove it if I didn't like it. I couldn't really reclean the areas since you are supposed to let it cure for a day. My crappy phone pics don't really capture what it truly looks like.
The front emblem I'm not sure about since I lost some of the detail of the emblem there.
I think it looks ok.

I love the look of your car in its original guise , IMHO I do not think it needs any tweaking ! especially those badges , but its your choice of course

Did you remove the badges to spray them?

I think the car just needs a lower stance from the factory and you wouldn't really need to do anything else exterior-wise.

I agree somewhat, but I guess I'm the type that likes to make mine be a little different without being over the top. I appreciate the feedback!
I did not remove the emblems/badges. There are vids on it, but you basically mask off the area (note, not the badge exactly), and spray the badge and entire surrounding area. After you put the 5-6 coats and it's dry, you just start removing your tape. It peels off, and breaks at the emblems and stuff. Prtty easy and low risk. It's all in the prep work as usual.

Just do a 50% light coat as the first one. Keep the coats light. If you go too heavy you might get runs/dips or places where it gets too thick and uneven.

Snake Doctor, I have recently discovered a couple of minor issues with my E550 and was wondering if you are having something similiar.
My trunk spoiler on hte divers side seems to be lifting up a little bit. I've pushed it down and it poppes back up a littel bit. I also have the spoler on hte top edge of the back window and it's doing the same thing on hte same side.
When I hit the button for the rear window sunshade it makes this cracking noise before it goes up, then it like goes up. It comes down smooth. I noticed it at the factory when I picked it up and thought for sure they would catch it at the VPC when they checked everything out. I'm not sure if it's supposed to do that but I figured if yours does it too, then theres nothing wrong with it. Thanks, Kirk

Here is a link to pics of mine. My E550 has the red nappa leather interior with black wood trim. I'll try and get some inside shots this weekend.

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing these annoyances with this great car.
I don't notice any of those issues you mentioned. For the rear shade, it should be quiet. I'd go have that fixed/corrected by MB.
Same for the spoilers. OEM parts are usually perfect fits, so any popping up makes me think that it might be installed slightly off center? Whatever the case, they need to reinstall them, and even replace if for whatever reason they are warped or just don't fit.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Finally got some short videos of the resonator delete sound. It is NOT as loud in person as it is in the video. I also think the sound pickup from the microphone makes it sound more "rumbly" than it really is. Both are on "cold" starts. I use quotes since it was probably mid-90s outside.
Sorry, not going to take a vid while driving. Unless I can get my wife to record.

This car coninutes to amaze me. I went back out into the garage around an hour after i parked the car and I could hear something running still in the car. I check around and find there is air faintly blowing out of the passenger side vent on the outside of the car. This concerned me so I unlocked the car opened the door then closed it and the sound stopped. I googled it and some said the fan is drying the evaporator in the AC to prevent musty odor. That makes sense.
I locked the car, put the key back in the house and went back out to the garage to see if the fan was running and as soon as I got close to the car without touching anything, I could hear sounds coming from around the car like it was locking stuff, hood, doors, trunk. Very strange. The car was locked but it sounded like the car was making itself xtra secure. Is it alive?

I tell ya, there are times when it is making noises hours after I've left the car. I sure hope it's normal. As far as it drying itself out to prevent odors, it's not very good at it as my 2010 E sedan suffered from odors. Only changing out the filters resolved it. Maybe it's the heat and humidity of Houston, TX.

From what I was able to tell..the evaporator drying feature started in 2011.
Anyway, since we both own the own the same car, let's keep each other updated with any future developments.

And absolutely on keeping each other informed.
I haven't loved driving a car so much for every second I'm in it since my old turbocharged S2000!
