E500 facelift completed !

After 1 month, she is finally home !

Getting the parts was the easiest bit, the coding and calculations ........ damn ! Took my technician 3 weeks to get it right. But many thanks to Exoticmods in Kuala Lumpur, a job well done

Thanks ..... the facelift really made it feel like a new car all over again ... Yup, it's privately registered. Not cheap but she's what I want

You can but you need to modify the cut out around the rear lamps. The facelifted rear lamps are thinner than the pre facelifted ones, so if you mount the new rear bumper onto your pre-facelifted car, you need to trim away some of the plastic around the openings. The trunk and rear quarter panels did not change.

Distronic will be rendered non-functional after the conversion. So is cruise control. Sacrifices I supposed. But I've never used either since I bought the car.

The other function found on facelifted cars, the intelligent xenon that moves with the steering wheel, also cannot be made to function as the circuit is not found on the new SAM and will require several more components and reprogramming which is too complicated to crack. But the rest of the auto headlamp functions like normal.

The rear lamps are not plug and play. They need to be coded and calculations made to make the illuination of the LEDS lights equal on both the main rear lamp and the portion that attaches onto the trunk.

You can see the difference in this photo. Calculating the signal input from the rear SAM.

Refitted my C63 exhaust. Decided to take the plunge and amputated the AMG tips .... Exhaust shop joined the twin stinger to a custom single tail pipe on each side that fits inside the facelift exhaust trim.

Test fitting before chopping the tips ....

distronic and cruise control gone. for me, thats a big red light.
though i reckon it can be fixed, try to get in touch with Chris the Swede as hes an expert when it comes to conversions.

also, did you not have the illuminated and active curve light before you did the facelift or did you lose that too?

any plans for your wheels?
