Mercedes E350 CD Iridium silver convertible 2010
Credit to Mercedes
Often on these forums we beat up the manufacturer for the quality of their cars, including myself. But this time I want to give Mercedes main dealer and the company themselves, credit for acting in an excellent manner. Save to say my car had a problem with the suspension, it being only 3.5yrs old was to be candid a real expensive problem to fix.
But to their real credit and standing well above the likes of BMW, Mercedes have made a solid contribution to the cost of the repair. This reminds me so much of Mercedes of old, where quality and customer service comes first!!!
This never happened with my BMW's !!!!!

Well had the front shocks replaced and have to say the car feels really tight, amazing how it changes with age as mine has done 45k miles. All knocking noises have now gone!!! Another interesting point is they gave me a print out of all the wheel alignment dimensions and after 45k miles only two alignments were out before they did the alignment, I consider this excellent given the amount of road bumps and crappy road surfaces we have in the UK.

knocking noise
There was a knocking noise coming from the front offside suspension. whilst I have a third party warranty, they would not fix the problem as they said the suspension had not failed. however there is a Mercedes technical bulletin which identifies a problem with the front suspension struts and as a matter of "good engineering practice" better to change these struts. As part of this and because of the age of the car 3.5yrs I had to make a contribution, either way I could not have bought the parts alone for that price, still money spent but I was happy with the solution.......
