New owner dropping in...
Just stopped by to say Hi. Owned a lot of different cars over the years...328i, Z28, Hummer H3, lots of different SUVs and trucks...this is the finest auto I've ever driven, much less owned. Drove a ton if different cars before I chose, Audi S5, S3, even a MB C63. This was just the total package as far as I'm concerned.
Need to share a funny story for those that will understand the humor...
The day I bought it, I was down at Porsche of Tyson's Corner in DC over lunch buying a hat and keychain for a friend that's a 911 guy. He was coming in that day to officiate my retirement ceremony from the USAF. The MB dealer is right next door and I knew they had this car. So I wander over and go for a drive. I knew immediately I was not leaving without this car.
Fast forward 2 hours, I'm picking my buddy up from IAD in the MB. He says "nice car, but you'd like a 911 better." OK...I accept the challenge. Took it easy getting out of the airport but as soon as we got on the entrance ramp to Hwy 28, I push the Sport button and romp on it. "HOLY F%^$#!!!" is all that he could say.
Anyway...gratuitous pic below with my previous car on the right. See ya'll around the forums.

Hahah, thanks for sharing the story. I agree, this car is such a hidden gem. I say hidden gem since it never seems to come up when discussing cars in this segment/price range.

The GTI in the pic has an APR Stage 1+ tune, so I've already started looking. Wish the MB was as cheap to tune as the VW.

Congrats on the purchase!! Really nice ride!!
Where did you get the GTI tuned at? NGP? I used to live in Fairfax VA and had a stage 2 Audi, that's the only reason I ask. I'm really familiar with the area you are referring to in your story which makes it more hilarious for me!
Enjoy your new ride!!

Yep. NGP in Lorton.
That little GTI has quite a few parts of yours on it...the best being the blind spot mirrors. Best money I spent on it, besides the $600 tune of course.

NGP in Lorton is where I went as well.
I'm glad to hear we supplied parts for your GTI . We have a lot of stuff happening in our R&D department for your platform, so be sure to check back for new offerings! I have our blind spot mirrors on my MKV (dd), definitely a good investment.
If there is anything I can assist you with please let me know!

Congrats! I love my 2012 E550 Coupe. I also live in VA (Stafford). Let me know when you find a local performance tune shop!

Really dig the clear side markers. I think they'll look awesome on white.
It appears Prestige Motors in Annapolis is a Renntech dealer. Need to call them and see if they do tunes.
