The E550 I find myself not able to really explore full power. The ratios are shorter, more torque, less weight and the open diff does not feel as good as the open diff on the E55.
But the E550 will probably will walk my old Stage 1 on top end but from a dig.. the E55 will probably get out of the whole quicker.
I have 9" fronts 245/ and 9.5/275's on Michellins AS/3.. I will switch tires soon for stickier rubber and see how it puts the power down.

in terms of speed.. the E55 was much easier to put power down.
