Warped rotors with a good ending...

Hi all, it's been a while since I've posted on here but still read the forum regularly.
My '12 E550 coupe (18,000 miles) developed the dreaded warped front rotor issue. After reading all the threads on here about the problem not being addressed by MB, I had little hope in turning to my dealer for help. I took it in today, spoke to my SA and explained the issue. She was aware of the problems and said she would do her best to get it resolved under warranty. They put me into a loaner ('15 C300, pretty impressive for an "entry level" Benz) and said they would give me a call in a few hours. About 3 hours later they called and said "your car now has FOUR new rotors and new pads all the way around". MB agreed to cover it under warranty. What *may* have helped my case was that at around 11k miles I had mentioned an issue with brake vibration during a service visit. At that time the tech said "could not verify complaint". Dealership is Hoehn Motors in Carlsbad Ca. They've always treated me very good. Never a complaint. This just makes it them that much better.

I had mine replaced by MB at 12k on my 2012 E550 and thought the same thing. But, just wait in another 15k or less the new replacements will warp too.
I put Centric Rotors & pads problem gone and they come with 24 month warranty. It's hard for me to believe that MB used inferior brakes on this awesome car.

They are claiming that the pads and rotors are "updated" versions. SA couldn't explain how they were updated. Time will tell.

Just a quick follow-up post. Before MB put the upgraded pads and rotors on my car, my rotors would "rust over" IMMEDIATELY after washing my car. These new rotors DO NOT RUST at all, so obviously something has definitely changed.

The rotors on my '14 CLS550 warped (slightly) at around 8000 miles, they look like the same rotors as C/A207. Also just noticed the front caliper on my '15 E550A is different than our '13 E550A and '14 CLS550... New caliper looks a tad smaller and for sure the brake bite and stopping power is a bit less than the '13 and '14.

Ive been reading on this...and read that there is the line of thought (and or belief) that the warping is being caused by improper torqued lug nuts causing a high spot in the rotors that gets exasperated by the greater depositing of pad material on the high spot. There is also mention that corrosion causing the rotor not to sit completely flat on the hub also contributes to rotor runout.

anyone know if there is truth to this? BTW, the suggested solution was to utilize a dial guage to assess runout of the rotor before reassembly to make sure that its within tolerances. and to clean the mating surfaces.
