Found tiny seat cooling fan on the floor mat
'12 E550C
Saw a thread over in E sedan forum from about a year ago - poster had the same discovery. The thread narrowed it down to a seat fan.
Now that I see how tiny they are and there are only two in the bottom seat cushion - that explains the numerous threads on how the fans really don't do much
Cleaned the mats on the weekend and on the floor driver side rear passenger - there it was, a little fan on the floor.
Seeing the dealer in two weeks for maintenance, should be fun to hear what they say when parts fall off an MB

Interesting. Thanks for posting a pic.
Since the fan pushes air, I am assuming the fan can be access from the underside of the seat and would not be enclosed.

Dealer replaced seat cooling fan under warranty - said they had never seen or heard of this and found it quite puzzling the fan fell on the floor as they said it is enclosed in the seat.
Seemed like it was a big job for them - car was in for almost 2 days - quite a job to take the seat out and then take it apart.
