Good deal

Just finalized and will probably pick it up tomorrow or Monday. A white 2010 E350 coupe. 20K miles for $28750 including tax, tag, etc. Clean carfax and the car looks new. Good deal, bad deal or in between?

I think it's a good deal. I paid $10 more than that a year ago for a 2011 E350 w/ 17K miles. It was pretty well loaded and had a 100K warranty.
Allegedly driven by a little old lady who only went to church.

Where abouts do you find this information if I might ask? Also are these auctions open to dealers only or is the public allowed too?

Dealer only and not available to the public. A close friend of mine is a large dealer in SoCal and I have been blessed with access to all the dealer only sites to research or to buy for myself.... and No I do not sell cars to others nor do I have any interest.

Rule of thumb.

Domestic cars are on average listed at $5K over depending on the model and targeted to profit $3,500

German MB & BMW are targeted at $5K minimum profit margin to keep up with overhead and slick salesman suits etc..

Exotics can fetch anywhere from $10K to $35K as is now the case with the Ford GT

My sales price, before taxes was 26,256.50. so based on what I've read here, we did ok. Anyway, the car is flawless. Not a mark anywhere. I think the deal had a lot to do with the fact that the dealership had just moved to a new location. It was actually a pleasant experience and they didn't play any games.

That's an awesome tool right there. I'm thinking about waiting for the new e class to be released before getting into a '12 e550 coupe (hoping for further depreciation). Prices are all over the place on AT right now. The only ones that appear to be moving are in the mid 30s. Some dealers are asking for upper 40s on low mileage examples which is what I'd like to get into.

FYI, the dealer was asking 35K and change for the one we got for 26K and change. So don't be intimidated by dealer asking price.

Hot damn! Was that car stilling on their lot for an extended amount of time? Just curious as to why they caved almost 10Gs
