Passenger seat C207
Hi all,
Just wondered if anyone could shed some light on this.
I have full electric seats with the controls on the door. The drivers seat inclines upright but the passenger seat doesn't incline anywhere near as far. As shown in this picture (both seats are inclined as far as they will go).
Is this normal? Or should the passenger seat go further upright like the drivers seat?
Thanks

That might be the max incline distance without using the chrome handle on the seat (to bring the seat closer to the front window / dash,) as if a passenger was getting in the back.
The passenger seat will recline all the way down until it touches the rear passenger seat.

You may have an obstruction that's keeping the seat back from the vertical position. Look under the seat to make sure it is clear and also run the seat back up and down several times to see if it will clear itself.
On another site, a user had a plastic bottle cause expensive damage to the power seat mechanism.

Bane,
Sitting in my car now - my passenger seat only inclines as far as yours does in your picture - I have no reason to believe I have an issue with my seat.
The only time the seat will incline further forward is by using the handle as described earlier to allow a passenger into the car. At that point my passenger seat also slides forward (towards the window) as well.
In short your seat is working as designed...
Hope that answers your question.

Thats great thanks for the feedback. Just thought it was strange that the drivers seat goes upright so much further than the passenger!
Thanks for the help and for taking the time to check

Managed to get into a dealership today and had a chat with the service manager. He said there is definitely a problem with the seat as it should come up much higher, to near vertical. Could be something simple like a coin jammed in or could be a part is failing.

C207 Seat Recline Dilemma
Hi Bane, I'm experiencing the same issue with my car; just purchased incidentally. My Battery went dead & I suspect it's connected with having to complete a "memory seat reset"; which I'm yet to work out. Can you pls advise the outcome of your visit to the dealer? Cheers.

Try unplugging the seat motors and re-plugging. Should clear the limits and let it move more.
The right way to do it is a learn-in with SDS but there isn't really a way to do that without the right system.

I have the same problem and my car is a left hand drive model. I bought it brand new and for 5 years now, I still not have found a comfortable position to drive in because the left seat will not incline all the way. I always wondered why it was so uncomfortable to drive and then a family friend who was driving my car mentioned why my seat won't incline all the way.
Can other members on here check to see if they exhibit the same problem? The left seat will not incline as much as the right seat.

Hi, this is a pretty common problem for the model, to fix it you just need to initialize the seat with diagnostics and everything will be fine. At the moment for the seat it's the maximum tilt...
