E-class coupe battery fitment
Hi All-
Looks like I need to replace my battery on my E550 coupe that is just under 5 years old. Most stores I go to give me a huge battery which is over 13.5 inches long where the original MB battery is about 12". In order to have a proper fitment with a bracket there is no way to squeeze a 13"+ long battery in there. What is the brand and part# of the battery which can fit in E550 / E350 (i assume it is the same battery as for E550)?
Thanks.
p.s. all websites do not distinguish e550 sedan vs e550 coupe, so may be that's why they give me a long battery which is good for sedan but does not fit into a coupe.

Most parts sites will try to sell you an H8-AGM battery, which you've discovered is way too large and will only fit sedans.
You need an H7-AGM in any brand for the C207 coupes.

Thank you for a reply. Yes, I already figured it out that H7-AGM is the way to go. They also told me that H6-AGM should be fine as well. The only difference between the two seems to be amp rating 80Ah vs 70Ah for H6.

H6 AGM will NOT work on my 2011 C207 coupe. The bracket is made for a battery that is about 12.5 inches long. The H6 is about and inch too short, and you will not be able to secure the battery into the holder. I tried a H6 AGM battery from costco, and had to exchange it for the H7 AGM.

Correct: H6, H7 and H8 are essentially group size, reflecting physical dimension of the battery. H6 is too short, H8 is a way too long. Been through the same hassle before. Get the H7 one! AGM is a better choice and COSTCO has plenty of these
