I like, but I like the softer curves of the facelift, and this widebody gets rid of them for the harder edges more in line with the prefacelifted cars. Makes sense since it looks like they just took that kit and made it fit for facelift cars.

I like the hood, but not the holes on the side of it - I always thought the smooth stock hood was a bit 'dull' especially if you have the 5.5 V8.
Even the rental GLA 250 I drove had more shape to the hood.
The front fender/bumper, I think I would have preferred if there was a smooth transition from the side as it roles into the front.
Nice kit overall though.
Just by view...

I'd be interested to see if Prior Design can come up with a facelifted version of their current widebody kit. Or do I just save up for this one

Yeah, agreed also. The back is definitely lacking in the stock coupe and cabs. On the MEC kit, the lower part of the rear looks good - diffuser, exhaust, etc, but how the quarter panel and lower spoiler blend; as you mention, is a little 'unusual' for sure.
I can't imagine it is very easy to keep the corner of that rear light clean with how it wraps into the lower spoiler/fender.
If I was going for a kit, I would probably still pick the PD one (I'm on the non-face-lift coupe).
On a more positive note, it is nice to see vendors working on different body options even if they don't suit my style/choice.
