2017 E-Class Coupe - Are The images Real
Is this image real? Did a search for the 2017 E-Class Coupe and came across this image on NewsAutocars (http://newsautocars.com/2017-mercedes-e-class-coupe/). Do you think these images are real? They don't seem to show up anywhere else.

I don't know, but I think no? It doesn't have the distinctive 4 headlight look of the E class. I assume that the new one will look like the S and C class coupes since that seems to be the design direction, but I would expect to see the 4 headlight look somehow.

Besides that disappointment how do you all feel about door mounted side mirrors ? That could take some getting used to.

Oh, got it! I guess I'll be looking forward to the 2017 AutoShow.
Regarding the door mounted side mirrors, I don't understand this. I own the 2012 E550 Coupe and the mirrors are mounted on the doors, the 2013, '14, '15 also have door mounted side mirrors. So what does this mean exactly?

This will be a very pretty car.
He means mounted on the actual door panel vs. that area where the window meets the metal door panel.
I don't mind it personally.

wow! I see that now LOL
Hmmm not sure how I feel about that! I'm sure I'll still fall in love with the car but don't particularly like that. Seems like most cars now have it mounted right above the door.
This could also be just a prototype. It will probably go back up for production.

Sure, but many vehicles in the last ~3 years have gone to door-mounted mirrors.
It most certainly will not. This car is way too far in development for a major change like that. Also note the mirror placement is the same as the C-class and S-class coupes.

Yes. That seems to be the direction for non-AMG models. All the major luxury brands are either headed in that direction or already there for their regular line-up. It's kind of a necessity in order to meet the fleet-wide mpg standards. I expect the new E AMG will still be a V8 like that in the GT.

I agree. With the camo it actually remindes me somewhat of the new Ford Mustang. Now, don't go in a brand-snobish tizzy and send me mean replies. Just think of what that means... It may be more sport car than sedan with a door chopped off, at least in overal shape. That would be a good thing.

Hotsie Totsie! I just hope they do some major work on the intertior: 1. Get RID of the column-mounted shifter. 2. Rework that horrible patchwork touch-panel gauge cluster.
