break in roadtrip
I had the opportunity to travel down the California coast from Santa Cruz, through big Sur, past Santa Barbera and up to Ojai this week. It's a journey of just short of 300 miles and a very enjoyable and comfortable ride in the E350 coupe. We averaged 27.5 mpg on the way down and 28 on the way back avoiding the coast route through Big Sur [faster, but not nearly as scenic] I was very pleased with the mileage as the car is rated 17-26mpg. Also it appears the cruising range is north of 400 miles in hiway driving.
So now that I have put over a thousand miles on it since I got the car, I've become much more comfortable with the controls, although there are still some features of the nav system that are confusing.

Would love to take my Cabriolet down the west coast.
Will be doing San Francisco to LA via the PCH and then on through Death Valley to Las Vegas in August, but unfortunately in a GMC Yukon XL.

Stu, it's a great ride, no matter what vehicle you will be driving. Doing it in the vert would be special though.
